A few ways to beat the recession

1. Turn off the idiot box, watching the news nowadays will make you want to jump out of a window. All news is depressing doomsday propaganda. Its almost like they want us in a perpetual state of fear.

2. Change your diet, adding more plant based fiber food staying away from starch and chemicals, buy organic when possible.

3. Whenever you start to feel anxious or depressed, take some deep breaths and get outside. When you are outside closer to nature, you are closer to God.

4. Find faith in something other than yourself, this alone will relieve stress.

5. Some people are a cancer. Nothing but negativity, doom and gloom, the economy, the president, the government, did you hear what they did now, did you see what happened on the news, my 401k, the stock market, my job, my boss....blah blah blah. Cut them out of your life. Only surround yourself with positive people.

6. Pray, meditate, give thanks everyday for what you do have, be grateful, believe me, its not as bad as you think.

7. Focus locally, make a difference, do good deeds. Change yourself, change your family, help change your community.

8. If your a christian, make friends with a muslim, if your a muslim, make friends with member of the jewish faith, if your a jew make friends with an athiest....you get the idea, we are all people don't fall for the divide and conquer.

9. Talk to your neighbor, be friendly to everyone.

10. 40 hours a week is what you do for survival, anything beyond that is what you do for success.

11. I can't stress this enough, turn off the tv, you are being bombarded with hypnotic doom and gloom propaganda, especially as it gets closer to the presidential election, just remember its all just a made up game and they want you to play to keep you in a constant fear and negative state of mind. Take your ball and go home, refuse to play.

Weight loss success

First, you have to see yourself thinner. Take ten minutes each day to really concentrate on visualizing yourself a few sizes smaller. To many people go for the "lose 30 lbs in 30 days" which almost never happens.

A good goal that is very attainable, no matter who you are or how old you are is 1 or 2 pounds per week. You probably didn't get overweight in 30 days so don't think you can get shredded in 30 days. Small incremental steps holding yourself accountable is probably the best way to go for most of the population. Weigh yourself daily. This is more of a mental exercise, just knowing you have to answer to the scale can keep you from overeating.

I am a little biased when it comes to exercise. Anything that gives you a mind body connection for exercise seems to stimulate everything for quicker results. Mixed martial arts or any martial arts is your best bet. Muay Thai or Thaiboxing, boxing, jiu jitsu, be it Gracie Jiu Jitsu or Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, or wrestling seem to be the best forms of martial arts for the highest calorie burn and are usually the most effective forms of martial arts. Anything can be effective if taught properly so don't discriminate, train and have fun. Just remember it all starts in the mind.
